    Weekly's Roundup

Picked up a CityBEAT and a Surf City Times (Encinitas). I didn't get a chance to grab a SD Reader. I don't know why there in about every store I go to and at the store I work at. Anyways I ususally don't read the Surf City Times, but this week's cover was done by Mary Fleener. You can spot a Fleener cover from a mile away. She has her own style that is trippy, cartoonish, and...ah I'm just trying to sound smart. Just go to her website, good stuff. Inside it had (among a Fleener comic strip) a great interview with surf filmaker Taylor Steele, (or was it Tyler?) done by his dad. The only reason I read this is because Taylor showed me his famous "Good Times" the other night. One of the first surf videos that was spliced with Punk songs and that never slowed down. Again, good stuff.

CityBEAT had a good article on Embarcadero and how a new proposal will put San Diego's Tuna Harbor in trouble. I didn't even know we had tuna fishing in San Diego. Also a good editorial on our Governor's "girlie men" fiasco.

    Some Infosquirts (ewwww) :

-Louis XIV at the Belly Up on the 31st. Best band in San Diego IMO. Check em out if you can. Only like ten bucks too.

    - First a crappy redesign. Now we have to registar for allmusic.com
