    Morals Shmorals

Republicans (especially in Congress) are always talking about these things called morals. Live morally, act morally blah blah blah. I love how morals and their spiritual beliefs must play a part in everything. But it always seems that it doesn't apply to them. Only us. For example...

Leader of the House Tom DeLay= Indicted for illegal campain fundraising. Wait I thought we passed bills to stop this? They didn't work? No way!

"DeLay and two associates are accused of raising $155,000 from six corporations for a special political action committee he established, Texans for a Republican Majority. The PAC, in turn, wrote a check for $190,000 to the Republican National State Elections Committee.
The national committee turned around and made contributions to seven candidates in the 2002 state legislative elections in Texas. How did the national group know whom to help? According to the indictment, a DeLay associate provided Terry Nelson, the Republican official who received the check, with a list of candidates to support and the amounts they were to receive.
Why go to all this trouble? Because corporate contributions are illegal in Texas races, the corporate money needed to be laundered. The point was to win a Republican majority in the Texas Legislature so DeLay could execute his plan to redraw congressional district boundaries, knock out Democratic incumbents and pad his majority in the House with five new Republicans." (from the Seattle Times)

Leader of the Senates Bill Frist= Being investigated by the SEC for insider trading.

Wow just like Martha Stewart. Hey Bill don't worry, maybe you'll get a tv show if you are found guilty. So that means that BOTH leaders of the Republican party are being accused of breaking laws. See guys morals count on everything in life. You can't pick and choose like let's say... oh morals only count when it comes to abortion or gay marriage. They kind of cover everything.

I finally finished Hunter S. Thompson's book about the 1972 Presidential campain. It's a great read and their are many similarities between now and then. But their are also some big differences. It's simply amazing how the ones in power act. With a reckless abandon, doing whatever they want in front on anyone. But why should they stop? No one cares. If cancer didn't kill Bill Hicks, his head would of exploded.
