    Open letter...

    Dear NBA,

I could easily make this a letter about how absolutly terrible the refs have been in the Spurs/Mavs series. I've been watching basketball for about 13 years now and the past two games had some of the worst calls I've EVER seen in any sport. Your going to a call the tickiest of tack calls on Bruce Bown with 8.2 seconds left? Were up two and now Dirk Nowistski gets two free shots to tie it? Whatever happen to letting the players sort it out? Forget the fact the Mavs have averaged 40 free throws a game in this series (with 22 4th qtr free throws in game 3 HOLY SHIT) Whatever. We still should of won the games no matter what. This is about something else.

Let's paint a picture: NBA Finals last year. Spurs/Pistons. Game 7. EVERYTHING on the line. What kind of music do we get to capture the tension and drama? Rob Thomas's "This is how a Heart Breaks" Are you serious? I was listening to that when I was stocking paper towels at Longs Drugs last year. Any song that comes on a drug store radio tracklist should not be used for anything other than driving hostage takers crazy. I hope somone got fired for that. It seems that someone did. This morning while i'm smoking a cigarette outside with NBA Fastbreak on in the background, I hear a spot for the next batch of games tonight, and what do I hear? Is that Deltron 3030? No way. But sure enough it was Deltron. Wow. Did you guys finally hire someone other that VH1 to pick the music? So kudos NBA for getting at least one thing right. Oh and Dick Beveta, if I see you in the street I'm going to shank you.

    Sincerly,
    Mario.

    Fin.
