    [future book review here]

Being a history major, I run into a dilemma sometimes. If I'm reading a book on a historical topic, and certain parts are slow (ie boring) I have a guilt trip if I think of skipping a section. I feel like I need to know certain things if I'm a history major, boring or not. I've been reading Jared Diamond's book: Guns, Germ, and Steel. While I like the overall subject the book deals with (why things worked the way they worked out for cultures since man has been around) I just can't seem to get past the 5 chapters on food production. I want to skip ahead to chapter 11 where the guns, germs, and steel comes in. I get it, people stumbled upon domesticating their food and we learned tips and tricks as the generations went on. But 10 pages on the domestication of almonds. Man...

But I can't skip it. Because when I finally make it out of Junior College, I'm going to have to write a 19 page dissertation on the domestication of the walnut. I just know it.
