    Yesterday (aka Signs of Life)

How excited was I to see the Oscar Meyer car near the bank? You have no idea. Americana in your face!

Went up to Orange County to see Mika Miko open for Yacht. It was at the OC Performance Art center. It's a collection of concert halls that vary in size. The show was held at the smaller Samueli Theater. It was a very nice place. Almost too nice. The hall was freezing cold. We think it has to do with the old people that usually go there to see Frank Sinatra Jr. perform.

MIKA MIKO!!!!! I know everyone around is sick of me yapping about these ladies. They get me excited about...everything I guess. Last night Dean from No Age filled in for Kate Hall on drums. I think he was more than qualified. Beach balls, teenagers moshing, and original punk rock blaring.

Next was Yacht. I forgot that I had seen them open for Vampire Weekend earlier this year at the Casbah. I remembered that they were super high energy and got in the crowd and danced. Well they had this big screen behind them this time. I realized they are more of media project that an actual band.

They had graphics going the whole time with the first ever Q&A session in the middle of a show I've ever seen. The lead singer also spent a lot of time in the crowd. Mostly freaking out this meat head teen that keep trying to push with him. So what does the lead singer do. Freak dance with him of course. With a little bit of pushing thrown in.

They had Steve their buddy in Portland sing along in the middle of the song from his laptop. It was one of the most bizarre shows I've seen in a long while. It took a few songs but they won Brent and I over. They had the crowd in the palm of their hands.

To end it they asked everyone on stage to dance. A bit cliche, but I've never done it, couldn't help it.

    See?. View from the stage.

Go see Yacht. Their fun. Mika Miko was great. Orange County sucks, thank goodness for
    San Diego and Los Angeles.
