I have to drive up to John Wayne Airport tomorrow for a aviation fire training course. Should be a fun 6 hours. Rumor is they B-B-Q for you. Some interesting facts about John Wayne Airport:
-It was called Orange County Airport until 1979. That year John Wayne died and he used to live close by. I guess Orange Country Airport was not American enough.
- 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag staring Joe Pesci was filmed in the baggage claim area. The airport was portrayed as San Diego International Airport.(*Wiki) I knew it. I always thought that part wasn't San Diego. Might have to Netflix that. Note to self, get Netflix again.
-The President of In n Out died in a crash in 1993. His chartered aircraft crashed after it followed a Boeing 757 too closely on final approach(*Wiki). The jet blast cause the aircraft to flip over and crash on route 55. A morbid fact but true none the less.
Maybe tomorrow I'll post some facts on John Wayne. It will be bigoted fun! Ugh, I don't want to go. On my day off no less.
