Kevin is moving to Iowa tomorrow. We sat there and enjoyed the heat from the fire and cold beer that you can't find out there. Job stories, movies, the Midwest, California, cheap land, Squeeze, corn, cow tipping, punk music, teenage milk chugging were spoken about. In between conversation, in the pauses between subjects is when the reality of tomorrow sets in.

"Now boarding Amtrak 147 for Los Angeles"

Trains keep coming and going. I bet he will not miss that. Crystal gives me a CD to hypnotize myself to quit smoking. I'm skeptical of course. I don't really know if I am or my mind has gone to it's battle stations.

We wait until all the wood is gone. We say are goodbye's and lug Brent's new found junk 3 blocks to my car. He wants to hear the hypnotism CD. We pop it in and Nick Muzak introduces himself. "The best place to listen to this CD is when your in bed"..."Never listen to this CD while you are driving."

We have a good laugh. Brent claims he feels stoned 45 seconds in. But he is just drunk and hypnotized. We laugh some more and unload junk. We regret not hanging out with Kevin much these past two years. Does the clock really say 3:45?
