Haven't done one of these in a little while. But I figure I would talk about some of the songs that I have been really diggin as of late.
Ambulance LTD - Primative (The Way I Treat You)
Is it post this or post that? Naw, It's just good guitar rock. It has it's own sound with great lyrics and I love the sound they get out of their instruments. It's also starting to get some radio play. But of course they are playing on Saturday coming up. What a night for music in San Diego. Ambulance at the Casbah, Moving Units at the Che Cafe, and Louis XIV at the Belly Up.
50 Foot Wave- Clara Bow
Sounds alot like a Pixies song sung by Kim Deal. But a little more punk than the Pixies. It's a really great song with a band that has a great name. A great fast riff that makes you ready to run into the nearest wall.
The Like- Falling Away
More rock done by chicks. This band is all girls unlike 50 Foot Wave. Some bands take a few albums to find their sound and define it. It seems like the girls from The Like have already found the sound they want. And guess what, it's a really good sound.
This is like the summer of way too many shows. Too many shows for me to afford at least. I gotta pick em wisley. At least Louis XIV is only 10 bucks. The Beastie Boys just announced a full on tour hitting SD and Long Beach. But Taylor and I already want to go see The Black Keys at Brick by Brick on the same day. So maybe see the Keys and then hit up the Beasties in the 213. On a final note, when will Franz Ferdinand ever come to San Diego?
