When Jammie and I first started going out, we would watch movies non stop. We would hole ourseleves up in her old Bonsall house with an insane DVD collection, and bi-hourly snack runs down to Daniel's Market. But when we moved out together, our movie watching went down...alot. I credit getting cable and our umm love of natural herbs.
But this week we are changing that. We got rid of cable because as much as I love watching the I Love New York reunion show for the 4th time, it's rotting my brain. I guess many movies rot your brain too, but they seem to be more constructive than tv.
So here is everything I've seen this past week broken down into three catagories: Oh Ya,meh, and eh. Like a lazy man's Good, Bad, and Ugly if you will.
Oh Ya
Grindhouse- Over the top and fucking great. I prefer Planet Terror.
Hot Fuzz- Great Great movie. Makes fun of actions movie so well, that it becomes a great action movie.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze- Beth got this in the mailbox yesterday and we had to watch it right away. The cool thing is that I remember almost every seen and was saying lines before they the characters were saying them. I felt like I was 12 all over again. Screw the new animated one.The best cartoon to movie crossover EVER.
Meh
A Dirty Shame- I thought this was the First John Waters movie I've ever seen, but I just learned that he did Pecker. Loved that movie. This one, not so much. But it's so wierd that you just had to keep watching.
Eh
Nightwatch- This Russian movie looked really cool in the trialer. But it's really boring. I'm not one of those people that crave action all the time either. To be fair I was really tired and didn't finish the last 1/4 of the movie. So maybe I'll give it another go.
So that's what I have been doing the past week. Man you can totally get lost on imdb. I saw something else but I don't remember what.
See you in Indio!
Fin.
