    Chargers...I say good day..

I'm a bit late with this but, I was pleased to hear that Oceanside was ending it's bid to get the Chargers new stadium built about 1/4 of a mile from where I currently live. I think it would have been a terrible deal for Oceanside. Sure the city would probably end up with enough money to fill up the new stadium, but I think their were too many cons. Traffic would have been hell. Every Sunday would bring gridlock to the 101 and and the 5/78 merge. While public transportation would have available, I don't think it would alleviate the traffic nightmare.

The infusion of all these extra people would lead to more trouble from the infusion of all these people. More people, more beer, more problems...pretty much. I think Chula Vista is a better choice for the stadium. Closer to San Diego and Mexico. It's better to cater to the Southern region of San Diego then try to bring the people from LA/OC who don't have a football. Last time I checked I saw more Mexican Charger fans than OC soccer mom one's. Actually OC soccer mom's do have a team. USC. Hey USC welcome back down.

Well before I rant on USC, I'll stop. The bottom line is that Oceanside believed that it was not worth all the trouble to build the stadium. The right choice was made. Sorry North County Charger fans, your drive will be 20 minuts longer.

    Fin.
